So, when are we planning the next boy’s weekend?
– Don’t Forget to Turn Up The Volume –
Weekend Warriors
I might have a problem, cuz I might have made another one.
This one’s about our highly organized weekend trips, our flawless planning skills, and the totally reasonable way you guys refuse to go camping.
Lyrics
Verse
Back in Grass Valley, just a bunch of kids
Runnin’ wild, never thought we’d outgrow this
Years roll on, but we ain’t slowed down
Still chasing the night when we roll into town
Chorus
Shaun’s got the stories, Jack’s got the plan
Travis checks in from SoCal when he can
Me? I just wanna sleep under the sky
But they all say, “Nah man, Air-bnb’s fine”
We hit the road, we light it up
Another Airbnb, gotta find that hot tub
Plans fall apart, but we don’t care
Same old crew, always gettin’ somewhere
Weekend warriors, never backin’ down
Next trip’s callin’, when we comin’ ‘round?
Verse
Shaun’s laughin’ loud, takin’ over the scene
Jack’s droppin’ facts ‘bout the stock market swings
Travis ain’t near, but we pour one for him
‘Cause once you’re a brother, you’re always all in
Chorus
Every time we swear we’ll plan it right
Then life jumps in, and we miss the flight
But one way or another, we’ll find a way
Even if it’s “next month” that turns into May
We hit the road, we light it up
Another Air-bnb, gotta find that hot tub
Plans fall apart, but we don’t care
Same old crew, always gettin’ somewhere
Weekend warriors, never backin’ down
Next trip’s callin’, when we comin’ ‘round?
Bridge
Thirty-five years and we’re still the same
Different roads but the fire remains
Ain’t about where, ain’t about when
Just gotta roll and do it again
Chorus
We hit the road, we light it up
Another Airbnb, gotta find that hot tub
Plans fall apart, but we don’t care
Same old crew, always gettin’ somewhere
Weekend warriors, never backin’ down
Travis, you in? ‘Cause we’re leavin’ town!
Outro
“Shaun, shut up and get in the hot tub!”
“Jack, please, no more finance tips!”
“Travis, man, when are you movin’ back?!”
“Eric, no, we’re not camping!”
Shane Wants In
Okay, so you guys might know that Shane has also been a longtime friend.
And yes, he also happens to be my boss now.
Well, he found out I wrote a song about us and feels like he is being left out.
I told him he was.
So, cuz I kept hearing whining, I decided to make this while I was charging Mr. Clean (the Tesla).
The Lyrics
Verse
It started out simple, just four of us tight,
Travis, Jack, and Shaun, rolling deep every night.
We had the stories, the jokes, the inside crew,
Then Shane heard the song… now he wants in too.
Chorus
But there’s one small thing we cannot ignore,
Shane ain’t just a friend—he is the lab director.
Tracks my Tesla, calls it “Mr. Clean,”
Shows up out of nowhere like he is part of the scene.
Shane wants in, he is hyped on a buzz,
Rolling in fast like a Plaid just because.
Drinks Celsius while we grab a round,
Talking water samples when the music is loud.
Shane wants in, but does he belong?
Travis, Jack, and Shaun just nod along.
Maybe someday he will earn his place…
But for now, he is just setting the pace.
Verse
He is nice as hell, always thoughtful and chill,
But he is chasing bromance like it is part of the drill.
Tried a fist bump, went in for a hug,
Ended up in some weird handshake shrug.
Chorus
Travis looks confused, Jack just stares,
Shaun whispers, “Dude, why is he always there?”
Told them, “That’s Shane,” they said, “Oh, your boss?”
Then he ran off to flex his Tesla exhaust.
Shane wants in, he is texting the chat,
“What are we doing?” We ain’t replying back.
Shows up uninvited, orders a round,
Forgets he does not drink, then puts it back down.
Shane wants in, he is giving his all,
Talking test results at last call.
Maybe someday he will earn his place…
But for now, he is just setting the pace.
Bridge
Maybe we judged him, maybe he is cool,
Maybe one day he will break the rules.
But until he stops tracking my ride,
He is just the boss… on the side.
Chorus
Shane wants in, he is on the scene,
Mixing Celsius with a Tesla dream.
We respect the hustle, we admire the grind,
But man, Shane, you are way behind.
Maybe one day he will join the crew…
But until then, Shane, we see you.
Outro
Shane, Shane, Shane wants in…
But does he really fit in?
This is for you, Brown Bear
(We love ya)
Wrote a little tribute for my buddy.
You might be down one, but presenting the anthem you didn’t know you needed:
